Home >> Life in the USA >> 100% Made in the USA – Is There Such a Thing?

Is anything completely made in the USA anymore?  After exhaustive research on many companies, I would have to sadly say no.  Most companies outsource production to foreign countries and bring their product back to the U.S. to sell.  The result of this practice is domestic job loss and sub-par products on our store shelves.

Which products are actually made in the USA?

Below are various companies that manufacture and assemble 100% of their products in the United States of America.  I did NOT include companies that adorn the label below (which are many):

“Made in the USA from domestic and foreign parts.”

When you purchase products from these companies, you are supporting American workers!  Happy shopping!

Igloo Playmate

Igloo – Coolers, Katy, TX – Igloo has been manufacturing coolers since 1947 and employs over 1200 people.

Duluth Pack – Outdoor Gear, Duluth, MN – Creating handcrafted hunting, shooting and outdoor gear since 1882. Duluth Pack products are guaranteed for life.

Beardition – Men’s Beard Products, Nashville, TN – Founder Mark Williams came up with the idea of “beard conditioning” products while on a month long hike on the Appalachian Trail.

Lodge Cast Iron – Skillets and Cookware, South Pittsburgh, TN – In 1896, Joseph Lodge opened his first foundry creating hand-poured, cast iron skillets.  Over 100 years later, the Lodge family, is still running a very successful business. Their product line has expanded to include enamel and carbon steel cookware, and also a beautiful line of stoneware.

Fiesta Dinnerware

Homer Laughlin China Company – Fiesta Dinnerware, Newell, WV – Fiesta dinnerware has been in the same West Virginia factory where it all began 75 years ago.  Their colorful tableware is a favorite among collectors and includes a five-year warranty against chipping.

Dutchcrafters – Furniture, Amish country in PA, OH, and IN – Gorgeous, handcrafted furniture created by expert craftsman using only small, generator powered tools.  This Amish tradition is handed down from generation to generation and is usually a family run business.  Excellent craftsmanship!

Greenfield Paper Company – Tree Free Paper Products, San Diego, CA – Since 1992, this company has been manufacturing paper one sheet at a time.  They create plantable greeting cards, journals, sketch books, herb & vegetable seed paper, business cards, wedding invitations and custom products.

You Can Help

If you truly want to help the domestic economy, become an avid label reader.  Purchase products with the “Made in the USA” label emblazoned on it.  Better yet, shop small, local businesses.  Your neighbors and community will thank you!

Can you add to this list of 100%, “Made in the USA” only companies?
