Who Won The Election?
After months of painstakingly watching this shit-show of an election, it is finally over! It’s 4:00 am and I am sitting hear in the quiet of my home. I am happy to say that I don’t even know who won this election yet. I am not ready to know. These feelings are very foreign to me because I followed this election cycle with the intensity of a crazed mother watching her six young children at the waters edge.
The Lesser of Two Evils
The stark realization that Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton will be POTUS does not bring about a warm fuzzy feeling in me. Labelled as two of the most hated candidates in presidential history, I can certainly understand why. The status-quo with Clinton and the hate-filled rhetoric from Trump are both bad choices for our country. The divisiveness created by this election cycle is not good for our country.
I was and still am an avid Bernie Sanders fan, and believe wholeheartedly that Bernie would have won by a landslide. His character and progressive ideas for everyone would have won the American people, although this is now a moot point.
People are suffering and the country is in shambles. I can only hope that our new president will actually work to get things done for the good of our nation and all of its citizens. I will now go and face reality and see who our new president will be.
God Bless America!
